A little late in the game for a recap of my favorite moments in 2014, but hey, it’s still January, right? I’d say its still safe zone to reminisce on the past year. 2014 was one for the books, full of life and beauty and hardships and waiting. I had many ‘firsts’ happen in 2014 as well, which is always an accomplishment in my book. I love venturing out into new things, hobbies, & projects. Well, here it is! My favorite moments of 2014:
1. Picking up the paintbrush…
This time last year, I was back in Fayetteville in an empty house for about 10 days. I was taking a winter class, and Fayetteville was pretty desolate. It was during this time I started really pursuing painting. You can read more about this particular piece here.
2. The Lion’s Den
I’m sure I’ve rambled on about it quite a few times, but living in a house with these girls below was on of the best things about my college career. So many fun memories and life changing moments happened. It was a season that marked my life, for sure.
3. February in Colorado
My family and I took a spontaneous weekend trip to Colorado last February. Tickets were cheap and the weekend was clear. It ended up being such a fun trip! I love any excuse to run off to the mountains, so it was a highlight of my year to say the least!
4. Spring Break in Atlanta
This past year has held quite a few roadtrips to Atlanta. Spring break in particular was my first time. We had a great week spending it with people we love! Also, that one time we fell out of our canoe and into the lake fully clothed.
5. Krochet Kids
Late last spring, I was offered my dream internship: Social Media & Marketing Intern at Krochet Kids intl. in southern California! I had the best time with the best people working towards an amazing cause. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! You can see some of my blog posts about the internship here, here, and here.
6. Living in California
I’m pretty sure this one takes the cake. It’s safe to say I left my heart on the west coast. You can see more photos and blog posts of my time in California here, here, here, and here.
7. Roadtripping from TX to CA
Well, that was a first! So much fun to see so many new parts of the country. You can see the full recap of my roadtrip here. < That’s also probably one of my favorite posts of the year!
8. Julie + Trav Engaged!
As if seeing Salvation Mountain wasn’t enough…Julie and Travis got engaged there! It was such an anticipated moment, and so surreal to get to be there for it all! They just got married in Thailand in November, how cool are they?
9. Shooting My First (Tasteful) Boudoir Session
This was such a cool part of my year. I had never done anything like this before, and was nervous to say the least! It’s still a new genre of photography, and people are slowly becoming aware of the beauty in it! It has been such a cool area to step into & make my own and gives such a platform to speak life, identity, healthy body image, and beauty over people & their marriages.
10. Shooting My First Wedding
In 2014, I started working for Eugene Grace, a photography business in Fayetteville, AR. Part of that job is shooting weddings! It has been so fun to explore this new area of photography & business.
2014 was an incredible year. I stepped into & discovered more of my passions than I ever have before! Getting serious about a blog was actually one of my ‘resolutions’ for 2014, and I’m pretty thankful there was follow through. This little space has become quite special to me! Thanks for following along!
